My attempt to restore the system ended up resetting the system and both lost their operating systems. I tried this, that and the other thing. Later I found that many of the MS apps are grayed out. If you use Office 365 with Outlook/Exchange 2013 with Outlook, you better make sure you have all Outlook updates, otherwise we experience tons of syncing issues. Check This Out

Then reboot, and if you still have issues, get to the command prompt again, and key in: "dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" without the quotes, and press enter. I've been having the same problem with restarts, but mine started when I installed the latest Nvidia drivers, and now I can't get it to stop even after rolling back to nothing happens. Not everyone in the world who uses Windows, needs gaming garbage.Please take note of this and update future installers for Windows to not include this bloatware. I'll remember this.
So I decided to do it the hard way and I chose for an upgrade with (of course) the same Windows version from a plugged usb. They force updates on Home versions because, as you say, those users are notorious for not installing updates and creating issues like insecure systems (which are used for botnets and spam) Not gonna install it on my desktop. When it comes down to it, the user should have ultimate control over their device and software.
